Owner Mark Thomas founded Clever Thomas Systems to provide brewing consultant services to small and medium sized breweries from initial concept through expansion and beyond.

Inheriting the homebrew bug from his father, Mark has dedicated his life and career to the art and science of craft beer. Born and raised in the greater Philadelphia area, Mark got his start in the brewing industry in 2012 by founding Vault Brewing in Yardley, PA with the Cain Family. As Head Brewer, Mark designed and built out the initial 10bbl brewpub system and was responsible for all things beer related at Vault. Success came quickly, and in 2016 Mark designed and moved all Vault beer production to a new facility in Yardley designed around the 20bbl Premier Stainless Brewhouse showcased at the Craft Brewers Conference in Philadelphia. During this time, Mark & Vault partnered with Chart and River City to develop the first nitro beer in a can without the need for a widget.

In 2018, Mark took his skills and experience to Stable 12 Brewing in Phoenixville, PA as Head Brewer. In a few years time, Mark was able to turn the struggling business around and grow its production into the contract brewing space.

With Clever Thomas, Mark is bringing his 10+ years of craft brewing experience to help breweries not only make great beer, but make the business of beer great.
